          Viral Marketing
For viral marketing to succeed, the messaging must be persuasive enough to encourage people to click the "Share" button. In some cases, viral marketing campaigns may go viral because they are humorous, while others may be highly valuable and informative to the target audience.
There are two types of viral marketing campaigns:
1. Organic (or in-the-wild) campaigns.
2. Amplified (or controlled) campaigns.
Viral marketing is exactly what it sounds like marketing that spreads like a virus. This simple approach can help in creating a lot of positive impact during promotional product launches or campaigns. It helps to get tremendous visibility, exposure, and better traffic which results in increased sales revenue. Viral Marketing is so successful because it creates the curiosity and desire needed to generate the demand for a product or service. It is designed to generate excitement over nothing. It builds upon itself by word of mouth and it is so important today in all areas of business.
Viral marketing is a sales technique that involves organic or word-of-mouth information about a product or service to spread at an ever-increasing rate.
The internet and the advent of social media have greatly increased the number of viral messages in the form of memes, shares, likes, and forwards. Small businesses can create viral posts by reposting user-generated content like product photos or videos taken by customers. To encourage your customers to share their Instagram content with you, create a brand hashtag or ask customers to tag your business in their posts. If your video reaches one million views, it is considered medium viral (which will certainly earn you a healthy flow of new followers while boosting your status on the platform). And, if you get five million views within a three to seven-day period.
Advantages of viral marketing
1. A unique way of digital marketing.
2. It cuts cost.
3. Brings out your creative side.
4. It complements word of mouth.
5. Limited control.
6. You can't define your audience.
7. Your viral marketing campaign may irritate people.
According to Urban Dictionary, something that “goes viral” is an image, video, or link that spreads rapidly through a population by being frequently shared with a number of individuals.
         Direct Marketing
Direct marketing is a promotional method that involves presenting information about your company, product, or service to your target customer without the use of an advertising middleman.
Direct marketing consists of any marketing that relies on direct communication or distribution to individual consumers, rather than through a third party such as mass media. Mail, email, social media, and texting campaigns are among the delivery systems used.
Building a direct marketing campaign
1. Define your target audience.
2. Make your marketing strategy measurable.
3. Be straightforward.
4. Maintain relationships.
5. Use your data to improve your approach.
Along with mail, direct marketing encompasses print advertising, television, online/Internet/extranet, long-format TV (infomercials), telemarketing, virtually any medium that allows you to target a specific audience and then track your response. Direct marketing is a form of advertising that specifically targets a person or company to generate new business, raise the profile of an organisation or product, or make a sale. Direct mail, telemarketing and email marketing are all popular types of direct marketing.
To obtain an immediate response from targeted consumers/consumer communities and build lasting customer relationships.
Direct selling is more personalized and engaging than other types of marketing. Salespeople personally interact with customers face-to-face, whereas with traditional advertising, messages are delivered through media with the hope of a consumer response.
